WI - November Meeting

It was good to welcome more new faces to our meeting on November 9th, 2017. It is so encouraging that guests, visitors and new members are coming to our meetings from other districts too. Also, it was good to welcome Margaret back who was accurately described by one member as ‘an inspiration to us all and proof of the powers of positive thinking’. Carolyn welcomed back Alan Purkiss who is now on the WI Speakers’ List. He gave a brilliant talk on ‘An Insight into the M3 Motorway Policing’. Alan, retired now, joined the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary 51 years and 2 weeks ago and transferred 43 years and 2 weeks ago to the Basingstoke Traffic Department controlling the M3! What he doesn’t know about traffic situations isn’t worth knowing!      See full story...
