WI - July 2019

On the 11th July 2019, our Garden Meeting was held in Colleen’s beautiful garden – and the sun shone down on us. Road Closure - Maidenthorne Lane

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have issued a temporary road closure notice for Maidenthorne Lane. The closure is to enable Openreach works to be carried out including access to underground structures, cabling and jointing in order to restore customer service. Maidenthorne Lane will be closed from the A30 Winchester Road to Barley View and a diversion will be in place along Up Street, Yew Tree Road, Popham Lane and A30 Winchester Road and vice versa. The order will come into effect on 5th August 2019 for one week, although the closure is expected to last 2 days.      See full story...

North Waltham Parish Council Additional Meeting

will take place on Wednesday 24th July 2019 at 7.30pm in the Doris Cook Room, Rathbone Pavilion, North Waltham. A planning application for Phase A1, Hounsome Fields, Winchester Road, Kempshott Hill, Basingstoke will be included on the agenda. Garden Party

A Garden Party in aid of the Pink Place cancer charity is being held on Sunday 28th July at Deepwell Cottage Garden, Oakley. The event runs from 2 pm to 6 pm in a garden created by Alan Titchmarch which has been featured on TV.      See full story...

Tennis court

The Cuckoo Meadow tennis court surface has been given a power wash to remove moss etc. A contractor will shortly begin work to repair local damage in the tarmac and refurbish the fencing and supports.      See full story...

Notice of Review of Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council are conducting a review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations. The purpose of the review is to determine whether any changes need to be made to the current arrangements. There is a public consultation running from Friday 28th June to Friday 9th August 2019, which is an opportunity for electors and other stakeholders to submit their comments on the current arrangements and any alternative suggestions to BDBC. Changes to Bin Collections

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have announced changes to the bin collections starting on Monday 22nd July 2019. Dates and times of both grey bin and recycling services will be changing in North Waltham. Leaflets will be delivered to inform you of these changes and details are available on the BDBC website. All bins/bags should be put out for collection by 7.00am on the day of collection.      See full story...

WI - May and June 2019

Our meeting on 9th May 2019 started with our normal business meeting followed by the Annual Meeting. This included a presentation from Helen, our Communications Secretary, who reviewed the many good meetings and events that have taken place during 2018/19.      See full story...

Vehicle recovery vans in car park

Two vehicle breakdown vans have been left at Cuckoo Meadow, apparently since Monday 27 May. Neither van has any business name identified on it.
