Temporary Road Closure - Trenchards Lane

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have advised that Trenchards Lane will be closed for a 2 week period between 4th October and the end of November to allow the installation of power cabling to a new Openreach cabinet. Diversion signs will be in place, but please be aware that the proposed diversion is through North Waltham via Popham Lane, Church Road and Steventon Road to rejoin Trenchards Lane at Bulls Bushes Farm.      See full story...

Basingstoke Variety Show 2019

Basingstoke Variety Show will take place on Saturday 5th October 2019 at 7.30pm at the Anvil, Basingstoke. The evening will provide entertainment from over 300 local performers and help raise funds for the Mayors Charity Appeal, supporting HeartSmart, Real Change not Loose Change and Besom in Basingstoke. North Waltham Parish Council Village Walk Around

The Parish Council will undertake its annual Village Walk Around on Tuesday 6th August 2019 meeting at 7.00pm at the pond. All residents are welcome to highlight issues in the village that they would like the Parish Council to review, either in advance of the Walk Around by contacting the Clerk, or to meet with the Parish Council at the pond or during the Walk Around to discuss the issues.      See full story...

Cuckoo Meadow overflow car park

The Village Trust has adapted the area of Cuckoo Meadow between the BMX track and Steventon Road grass bank to create an overflow car park. This will be used to alleviate car park congestion during school term time and for events such as the annual Big Lunch. A reinforcing mesh has been laid over the ground; the grass will grow through this mesh and then obscure it.      See full story...

Road Closure - Maidenthorne Lane

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have issued a temporary road closure notice for Maidenthorne Lane. The closure is to enable Openreach works to be carried out including access to underground structures, cabling and jointing in order to restore customer service. Maidenthorne Lane will be closed from the A30 Winchester Road to Barley View and a diversion will be in place along Up Street, Yew Tree Road, Popham Lane and A30 Winchester Road and vice versa. The order will come into effect on 5th August 2019 for one week, although the closure is expected to last 2 days.      See full story...

Tennis court

The Cuckoo Meadow tennis court surface has been given a power wash to remove moss etc. A contractor will shortly begin work to repair local damage in the tarmac and refurbish the fencing and supports.      See full story...

Notice of Review of Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council are conducting a review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations. The purpose of the review is to determine whether any changes need to be made to the current arrangements. There is a public consultation running from Friday 28th June to Friday 9th August 2019, which is an opportunity for electors and other stakeholders to submit their comments on the current arrangements and any alternative suggestions to BDBC.
