Covid-19 Support Group - May 2020

First of all, we would like to thank everyone volunteering in the support group and/or helping out neighbours and friends with shopping, etc. We know that residents are so appreciative of the help they are receiving in these challenging times. We have now settled into a routine of many of us looking after our “regulars” with their shopping, medication collection, etc, with a few new requests being received and sent out as “shout-outs”.      See full story...

WI - May 2020

North Waltham WI is continuing to follow the guidance from Hampshire Confederation of WIs and at the current time we are unable to hold any meetings. As mentioned last time, we did look at the possibility of holding meetings via Zoom – I have been asking members when I see them, at the required social distancing, and there doesn’t seem to be the interest. I know that lots of you are keeping in touch with one another anyway.      See full story...

Bonfires

It has come to the attention of the Parish Council that bonfires are frequently being lit in parts of North Waltham throughout the day, which are preventing residents opening their windows, enjoying their gardens or hanging out washing. Bonfires also give rise to air pollution and for anyone suffering from existing respiratory and other conditions, smoke can make breathing difficult and exacerbate symptoms. During this difficult time and in recognition of the difficulties and stresses many people have at the present time, residents are being asked not to have bonfires. Further advice about bonfires, alternative methods of disposing of waste and what to do if you are affected by bonfires is available from the BDBC website.      See full story...
