Success at the Village of the Year Competition
North Waltham enjoyed a very successful evening at the Hampshire Association of Local Councils (HALC) Village of the Year Awards presentation evening last Thursday evening, winning a total of 9 awards. The awards won were as follows:
Special Award as Champions of Champions, winning a glass trophy
Winner of Best Small Village, with a prize of £100
Runner up for Overall Village of the Year
Runner up for Community Engagement
Jeff Maidment, Head Teacher at North Waltham Primary School, and Hannah Cooper both won awards for Inspirational Individuals
The Fox Pub was Highly Commended as a Community Hub
Old Barn Stores won an Inspiration Place award
The Village Pond was runner up as Best Village Feature
The Parish Council would like to thank Rob Cooper for all his hard work in putting together the initial presentation, meeting with and organising several members of the community to meet with the judges when they visited back in July. Thank you too to those who met with the judges and demonstrated the lovely place that is North Waltham.
