North Waltham WI is continuing to follow the guidance from the National Federation of WIs and Hampshire County Federation of WIs. With the current restrictions regarding social distancing, we are unable to use the Rathbone Pavilion as it is not big enough for our numbers. We are, however, going to offer our September meeting via Zoom. Our speaker will be Lorraine Major – you may remember her previous talk about her trip with Basingstoke Hospital to Africa to help with newborn babies. This time her talk is a “Hospital Trip up the Amazon”. Further details will be sent out by Helen prior to this meeting on Thursday 10th September 2020 at 7.30 pm. If anyone needs any assistance with using Zoom, please let me know.
A brave few of us did manage to get together for a garden social on Thursday 13th August 2020 between the rain, wind and thunderstorms. In fact, once we sat down the sun came out for a while and we had to move to the shade! After about an hour of chatting, the thunder started and we decided to call it a day – most people got home just before the torrential rain started, phew! It would be lovely to have another informal get together, however, the weather is a bit unpredictable at the moment so it may not be possible. However, please watch this space – if we do get an Indian Summer then we may do an impromptu get together.
If anyone needs anything or just a chat please do get in touch
