Our last meeting on the 8th July 2021 was held in Sally’s garden as the restrictions at that time still did not allow for indoor meetings. Following the business, members enjoyed strawberries and cream, a glass of bubbly and a quiz prepared by Helen’s son, Jonathan – thank you, I think we all learned something about places in the UK! Thank you to Sally and Brian for allowing us to use their garden and to the WI Committee for preparing the refreshments.
As Covid-19 restrictions have now been lifted it is planned to hold our future meetings in the Rathbone Pavilion (however, if guidelines do change in the future this may need to be reviewed). Our forthcoming meetings are:
9th September 2021: Maggie Forbes who will be talking about quilting.
14th October 2021: Sarah Slater who works at Hampton Court. Her talk is entitled “Sex, Secrets, Scandal and Salacious Gossip of the Royal Court 1660 - 1830” - Sarah has given this talk to many WIs over the past few months – all to rave reviews!!
11th November 2021: Trevor Vidler, Hampshire Search and Rescue – this is a voluntary organisation which works alongside the police in searches for vulnerable missing persons in Hampshire.
