WI - July 2019

On the 11th July 2019, our Garden Meeting was held in Colleen’s beautiful garden – and the sun shone down on us. Following a short business meeting, Nicky Carter spoke to us about Move It or Lose it - these classes are designed to encourage older adults to become more active.      See full story...

WI - May and June 2019

Our meeting on 9th May 2019 started with our normal business meeting followed by the Annual Meeting. This included a presentation from Helen, our Communications Secretary, who reviewed the many good meetings and events that have taken place during 2018/19.      See full story...

WI - April 2019

At our meeting on April 11th 2019 at the Rathbone Pavilion Carolyn welcomed two new members, Linda and Sylvie, bringing our total number of NWWI to 42. Our speakers for the evening were two ladies working at St. Michaels Hospice, a well-known venue and familiar to lots of families.      See full story...

Wi - March 2019

Our 83rd Birthday Meeting was held on March 14th 2019 in the school hall at North Waltham. The hall was full of members and guests, including members from another WI and some from the Hampshire Federation of WIs.      See full story...

WI - Feb 2019

Our first meeting of the New Year took place on January 10th 2019 when Colin Pawson, a keen member of the British Carriage Society, gave us an illustrated talk on the history of coaches and coach horns from the golden age of coaching to the present day. WI - Jan 2019

Our Christmas meeting, held on 13th December at the Rathbone Pavilion, was a happy affair. After the business part of the meeting, we had time for lots of chatting while the committee worked hard serving us with mince pies, Stollen, wine and orange juice.      See full story...

At our meeting on November 8th 2018 Jackie Dimmock, our speaker for the evening gave us a brilliant talk about her life as a member of the Police Force. Jackie’s talk had the title, ‘The Good, the Bad and the Downright Funny’.      See full story...

WI Meeting - April 2018

April 12th, 2018 – This is a return visit for John Richards who spoke to us in October 2016 on ‘Life under German Rule in Guernsey in WW2. This will be a follow-up talk: ‘Life as a Refugee in England from Guernsey during German Rule’. This will be an open meeting.      See full story...

Our last meeting on Thursday 8th March 2017 was our 82nd Birthday Party when we were joined by several guests from the Hampshire WI, Church Crookham WI with whom we are twinned and local guests, all of whom were warmly welcomed to the meeting.      See full story...

WI - January and February 2018

Our first meeting this year was on 11th January 2018. Carolyn led the business meeting and discussed with us the contents to be included in the North Waltham entry for the Countryside Books, ‘Hampshire Villages’, to be published later this year. We then voted on the 2018 WI Resolutions put forward. The speaker did not appear so we had a catch up chat over coffee or tea and biscuits instead.      See full story...

February 8th, 2018 – The Sewing Soldier – Lt. Col. Neil Stace will talk about Army life including tours of duty in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Afghanistan, and his sewing, which he started whilst at school. This will be an open meeting for men and women.      See full story...
