Pre-Booking System for Household Waste and Recycling Centres

A new system for residents to book slots at Household Waste Recycling Centres will begin on Monday 15th June 2020 and residents will need to make a booking to access the sites from this day onwards. The system is being set up in response to some of the severe traffic congestion seen at many HWRCs since they re-opened in May.      See full story...

HCC to reopen Household Waste Recycling Centres

Hampshire County Council has said that preparations are underway to safely reopen household waste recycling centres in the week commencing 11th May. This date is subject to further guidance expected from the government this week on travel to a household waste recycling centre during the COVID 19 outbreak. The vehicle registration scheme for access to the HWRC, which was due to start on 1st April 2020, has been postponed. Bonfires

It has come to the attention of the Parish Council that bonfires are frequently being lit in parts of North Waltham throughout the day, which are preventing residents opening their windows, enjoying their gardens or hanging out washing. Bonfires also give rise to air pollution and for anyone suffering from existing respiratory and other conditions, smoke can make breathing difficult and exacerbate symptoms. During this difficult time and in recognition of the difficulties and stresses many people have at the present time, residents are being asked not to have bonfires. Changes to Waste Collections

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council are making changes to bin collections in order to protect staff and provide a reliable waste collection service during the Covid-19 outbreak. From week commencing Monday 20th April please put out your green recycling bin and glass recycling box on your normal recycling collection date and your grey waste bin out on the opposite week. Changes to Bin Collections

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have announced changes to the bin collections starting on Monday 22nd July 2019. Dates and times of both grey bin and recycling services will be changing in North Waltham. Leaflets will be delivered to inform you of these changes and details are available on the BDBC website. All bins/bags should be put out for collection by 7.00am on the day of collection.      See full story...
