Bill spent his teenage years (1946 -1953) in the Village when his father farmed the North Waltham estate. He now lives in London.
Following 29 years in the shipping industry, he served for 12 years as chief executive of the Royal United Kingdom Beneficent Association, a national charity helping 6500 older people in need. He retired in 2001 but continues to be involved with a number of charities as trustee.
He succeeded his father as a trustee of the Village Trust in 1978.
